Introduction

One chaotic regional night binds a First Nations grandfather, a fallen battler, a queer teen, a shrine to a dead son, and a Tupperware party that turns into a birth.

A darkly funny collision of regret, resilience, and karaoke-lit redemption.

eating ice cream with your eyes closed celebrates regional characters and communities without sentimentality, offering a hilarious combination of authenticity, chaos, and resilience.

With nine episodes complete and the final in development, the series is structurally ready for production partnership and market packaging.

The current episodic film version of eating ice cream with your eyes closed emerges from a long trajectory of collaboration and development with key attachments: Aaron Pederson and Hayden Spencer.

Aaron Pedersen (Arrernte, Arabana): leading First Nations Consultant and senior actor/director; guided
the evolution of Macca into an elder/grandfather figure with cultural authority.

Hayden Spencer : senior actor and long-term collaborator, guided the psychological realism and male dynamics of the character Doug.

David Brown : creator / writer
Playwright and screenwriter, David’s style of work bridges realism and lyrical structure, placing marginalised voices at the narrative centre.
